The small round tour extends along the most important sights in the city of Eisenach and its surrounding area in the forest. On the Luther adventure trail you climb the hill on which the legendary Wartburg towers above the city and follow the wonderful laid out hiking trails through the beech and oak forests through the western Thuringian Forest to the Rennsteig high-altitude hiking trail.
At the highest point of the tour you have a wonderful view of the castle from the Hohe Sonne. Back on the way to Eisenach you cross the famous Dragon Gorge. At the narrowest point, which is only 68 centimeters wide, you can literally experience nature up close. You return to city of Luther through the picturesque Mariental with its magnificent villas.
End your tour with a visit to the newly opened Luther House and immerse yourself in the history of the Reformation.
