Unforgettable cycle track with cultural detours

This cycle track connects the landmark of Kassel, the Hercules, with the probably most important German castle, the Wartburg. The trail thus passes through Hesse and Thuringia as well as the former inner-German border.

The 130 km long Hercules-Wartburg cycle track leads from Kassel along the Losse river via Kaufungen and Helsa to Hessisch-Lichtenau. Via Waldkappel, you reach the Ringgau and finally Creuzburg on the Werra and via Hörschel the Wartburg town of Eisenach. Impressive parks such as the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, historic castles such as Creuzburg and Wartburg Castle, tempt visitors to make cultural detours, as do the collegiate church in Kaufungen and the museums in Eisenach and Kassel. You may look forward to an unforgettable day trip on the bicycle.
